The portraits on this page were painted from 2002 to 2005 and are from Ben's personal collection. With the introduction of his wife in 1999 and family in 2001 his passion for art grew. When his first son was born in 2001 and second in 2004, Ben found a new profession as a Stay-At-Home Dad. These portraits were done from live poses and from photographs.
From a potential client's point of view, working from photographs is convenient and gives the client more control over the pose that is painted. There are, however, better aspects of a photo and specifications that will help to make a better end-result. Some of these specifications are; photo quality, in terms of, clarity of the image, crispness and a photo that captures the person's personality the strongest (a smiling subject is not always the best for a painted portrait). It is important to provide approximately 3-4 photos for Ben to use in conjunction with the client's choice.
